Centralised and Decentralised structures 1.4.3

Centralised structures - involves keeping all decision-making at the top of the hierarchy, usually in the head office (i.e. amongst the most senior management).

Decentralised structures - means that business have moved the decision making process away from a central head office, and spread it throughout the organisation, often to branch level. Decentralisation is closely linked to delegation.
